We return to the mountains and cross the impressive Cañon del Pato, a winding track wedged between the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra. At the most narrow canyon, only a dozen yards separated the two Cordillera! 
An impressive journey begins in the desert, is committed towards the mountains through valleys arid collected over each other. Along the way, many mines and ghost towns, almost a western decor. The track is barely wider than the bus that connects the bridges that creak crossings, while at a raging river. Legend is that the route has the highest number of tunnels in Peru, more than 40 to less than 100 km. Finally we come to the green plateaus at the foot of the most beautiful glaciers in the region!
After 8 hours by bus (to go just over 250 km), we arrived safely in Huaraz and are hosted by Ivan couchsurfer friend. Once settled at home, we spend our first day we réacclimater because we've still go from 0 to 3000 meters above sea level, and to identify any areas of flight. We climb in the morning at El Pinar viewpoint, where the magnificent point view on the peaks of the Cordillera Blanca us a glimpse of beautiful possibilities of flight. 
We also find the Huascaran, Peru's highest peak height of 6768 meters. We then descend into town to meet a local trekking agency recommended by Manu, who advises us to make a flight in the Cordillera Negra, with a beautiful view over the nevados. We return finally to Ivan, who spotted two flights-hikes, and handle the alarm for 5 am determined to send into the air in this spectacular landscape.
Unfortunately, although we expected on landing in the region is winter on the mountains of Peru and thunderstorms are numerous. The very next day, the sky becomes clogged and almost continuous rain. We still remain a few days in hopes of finding a niche, and we deal with other activities that offer the region. Thus we enjoy a morning cloud, but still a little drier than usual to make the trek from Lake Churup. 
At the foot of the glacier of the same name, the glacial lake is located 4450 meters above sea level. Like an emerald set in the rock, the waters change color throughout the day and reflect the surrounding peaks. The atmosphere is magical, especially after these few hours of walking the last mile of which are quite steep. Mathieu did not long resist also to call swimming! 
A little too fresh, there will however not long paddle, especially as the mist rises and the storm approach. We descend the rain but happy with our trip.
On any other kind, the best way we found to deal despite the rain is going to the baths of Monterrey. Pools filled by hot springs at 49 °, it appears that their waters are good for health ... In any case, it's good for the head, then pourquoi s'en private? Mais
