We first tested the mass in English in the family Friday (public holiday as Sunday from here!) Catastrophe: Hundreds of Indians, Filipinos and Sri Lankans, straight as i, quiet and collected ... but not a single child. Ours were not for them. And for Mass? A missal was essential ... and as the priest of the parish is an Indian, he asks questions in English, parishioners meet in Arabic. He read the Gospel in English, and a member of the Lebanese community in the bed Arabic. The sermon is in English, the songs are in Arabic, supported by a small choir, and a tempo with synth drums and cymbals, to Jean-Michel Jarre!
